WTF

So I'm reading the LA Business Journal this morning and I come across this little bit:

Two prominent L.A. wives have launched a product to help women get their act together. If they’re successful, they’ll take this organizational approach to companies.

Nadine Schiff, wife of Fred Rosen, former chief executive of Ticketmaster, and Barbara Guggenheim, wife of prominent Hollywood attorney Bertram Fields and heiress to her namesake fortune, are launching the Ultimate Organizer.

It may look like an ordinary three-ring binder, but it was designed to help women get control of their lives, serving as a starting point for essential emergency data: What if your husband has a heart attack and you don’t know his doctor’s phone number? What if you lost your wallet? Their customers can use the notebook to keep copies of their essential information.

“So much of life is just trying to field one crisis after another,” said Schiff, a former newscaster. “We decided to get out in front of them – to take all the numbers in our lives and put them into one place.”

Ultimate Organizer will reach bookstores in May with a cover price of $20. If it sells well, the pair hopes to become corporate organizing consultants.

“Ultimately, we would like to customize our lists for companies,” said Schiff.

WTF? Have these ladies ever heard of a CELL PHONE? Seriously. Why the eff would you carry around a three ring binder of emergency numbers when modern technology puts that information in the palm of your hand in the form of a fucking cell phone? Stepford Wives should go out into the real world and work instead of sitting around coming up with shitty ideas for fake companies.

  1. You know, in case the aliens invade and take all cell phones. And, if my husband has a heart attack, I'm calling 9-1-1, not his freakin' Dr.
